Helping clinicians join the Nonclinical World!

My name is Phillip Magee. I am a Pre-Service Coordinator (PSC) with naviHealth (nH). I know the struggle of submitting multiple applications without getting an interview, and I want to help those who seek to join the nonclinical world. My mission is to help clinicians effectively and successfully apply, interview, get hired and thrive in the nonclinical world!

I am a Physical Therapist Board Certified in Geriatrics with over 14 years experience in multiple settings, including home health, acute care, skilled nursing, inpatient rehab and outpatient wound care.

I have been to Kenya twice for medical mission work in 2013 and 2015. I have enjoyed my career as a Physical Therapist and am grateful to have made an impact on so many lives in the United States and Kenya.

I am originally from southern California but moved to Texas in the Dallas-Fort Worth area at age 8. I went to Physical Therapy school in Dallas for my Masters and my transitional Doctorate. I moved back to southern California at age 30 and thought I had closed the Texas chapter of my life. By age 34, my wife and I moved back to Texas in San Antonio for a lower cost of living and to be closer to immediate family.

By 2021, I wanted to be able to have a better work-life balance. I learned about Utilization Review in January 2021 and started applying for jobs. In May 2021, I was fortunate enough to get a 100% remote job as a Pre-Service Coordinator with naviHealth!

I enjoy spending time with my wife of 5.5 years and 2 children. It has been nice to see them every few hours and have lunch with them during the work week. When not spending time with them, I enjoy planning travel with points, making "anabolic" recipes from YouTube, learning more about cryptocurrencies, and listening/watching Shohei Ohtani make baseball history!
